The Good Side of You holds its square format with unusual calm. Slanting planes of blue, green, yellow, orange and red meet like pieces of a remembered hillside, each block pressing gently against the next. Nothing here becomes a literal view; the mountain remains an echo, a structure of ascent and pause, while the painting itself turns toward a quieter state of balance.

Fioroni’s handling keeps the surface alive without forcing drama. Some edges are clean and architectural; others soften where one layer of oil catches against another. The eye moves through these small interruptions — a cool blue plane, a warmer red edge, a green passage held near the centre — and the composition begins to feel less assembled than settled into place.

The title gives the abstraction a human note. Its optimism is modest, carried by the way broken color finds order rather than by any overt symbol. Artist introduction

Emanuele Fioroni, known professionally as Lele Fioroni, was born in Milan in 1977. He studied computer science at the International University of Milan and later worked in web and 3D design, building a creative practice shaped by structure, interface, and visual communication. He first came to Shenzhen on business in 2009, settled there in 2014, and in 2018 committed fully to painting after years of working alongside design and music.

Fioroni is a cross-disciplinary artist, designer, vocalist, and guitarist, as well as the founder of Art View (Shenzhen) Art Co., Ltd. His work grows from the meeting point between Italian visual energy and the Chinese culture he has lived with in Shenzhen. Chinese characters, urban change, layered surfaces, and material contrast are central to his practice; he often breaks down strokes, blocks, and signs, then rebuilds them through colour, texture, and divided fields.

His materials have included acrylic, gold leaf, masking tape, keyboard parts, cables, and oil paint, depending on the project. This openness gives his work a distinctive position within Shenzhen's contemporary art scene: it carries the discipline of design, the rhythm of music, and the physical freedom of studio painting. Fioroni has presented solo exhibitions in Shenzhen, including Time Labyrinth in 2020 and The 'Art' of Chinese Characters in 2021, and has participated in local and international exchange exhibitions.
